Presentation of FI(na)LMENTE project - 8th of June - 10 am - Circolo dei Lettori, Torino
On the 8th of June at 10 am, at the Circolo dei Lettori, the short films made by PhD Candidates of the University of Turin will be presented as part of the FI(na)LMENTE project, within the framework of the CinemAmbiente Festival. The viewing of the short films will be followed by a debate on the theme of science communication.
FI(na)LMENTE was created with the aim of promoting the use of video as a means of communicating scientific research, thanks to the collaboration between the Doctoral School of the University of Turin, the InToBrain Association and Cinemambiente. The Compagnia di San Paolo foundation is the main supporter of the initiative.
Fifteen PhD Candidates from the University of Turin, coming from thirteen different disciplines, were selected on the basis of the project proposals presented, to participate in an intensive workshop on storytelling and filmmaking.
During the project, curated by the Turin-based Zenit Arti Audiovisive, PhD Candidates made dissemination videos on three research topics selected from the proposals sent, collaborating with professional directors.
The initiative is inspired by the "Science Filmmaking Marathon" organized by the University of Zurich, an event that involved some PhD Candidates in Neuroscience from the University of Turin during the 2022 edition.
